Buyer Funded Credit Card Payments

  • What does that mean?

There are some merchants that do not accept credit cards as form of payment. Often these are for higher ticket purchases where the merchant does not want to pay credit card processing fees, for example a $10,000 tuition payment at a university.

A buyer funded credit card payment is a b7 product offering that enables a consumer to pay any merchant with their card, regardless of whether or not the merchant is set up to accept cards. The buyer will enter our portal, input their credit card details along with payee details, and their card will be charged for the full amount plus a service fee of 2.9%. We then pay the full amount due to the merchant via ACH or other non-card method.

In the $10,000 tuition example above, the payor will enter their credit card information and will be charged $10,000 + 2.9% for a total of $10,290. We will then send an ACH to the university for $10K.

  • What is the value of this service?

Maybe you want to pay for a good or service with a credit card for the cash back or points that you receive on your card

This is a cash flow optimization tool for both businesses and consumers. Extend your Days Payable Outstanding (DPO).

Businesses can keep cash on their balance sheet longer. If you pay with a card early in your billing cycle you can extend the true payable out 60 days–when your credit card bill comes due.

Merchants love this offering because if they don’t accept cards today, they can now offer an option for consumers to buy via a card, without having to set up their own merchant services. And the merchant is paid in full with no fees via ACH.

  • Who can use this?

Consumers: use our portal to simply make a payment. Verify some information, enter your credit card number, the amount to pay and the merchant to pay. You’re done.

Merchants: Want to offer your customers an option to pay with a card but don’t want to sign up for a traditional merchant services account? Offer this payment option to them.
